On Wednesday, October 26, fifth grade students participated in the Mummy Walk. In science, we have been using our powers of observtion (particularly sight). In the Mummy Walk, students are blindfolded and led through a "mummy museum". Using their senses of smell and touch, students examine some parts of a "mummy". The feeling of being dependent on a guide adds to the discomfort. After they have completed the tour, students are asked to generate a list of adjectives to describe both their emotions and the smell and feel of the specimens. Once they have completed their adjectives, they were required to write three paragraphs about their experience.
